Michael Holland

Michael is a trusted advisor to government, business and non-profit leaders and has extensive experience in international relations, public affairs, and strategic communications. Over the course of his career, he has developed award-winning programs and campaigns across a range of issues, including: climate change, economic development, education, humanitarian relief, human rights, and peacebuilding.

Currently, he serves as an advisor to organizations that are working toward achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, including the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO, the King Hussein Foundation, Mission Blue: the Sylvia Earle Alliance, and the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.

Earlier in his career, Michael was Director, Honeywell Hometown Solutions, where he led Honeywell’s social impact initiatives in more than 100 countries. He also served as the Executive Director of the Honeywell Humanitarian Relief Fund and led efforts to provide support to communities devastated by natural disasters in India, Mexico, Oman, Pakistan, and the United States. For his work, he was named the Communications Executive of the Year by the American Business Awards and the Community Relations Executive of the Year by PRNews.

Michael began his career with the American Chamber of Commerce (UK) where he managed the Chamber’s efforts to support the Irish Peace Process through economic development efforts with the U.S. and U.K. governments.

Michael is a dual citizen of the United States and the Republic of Ireland. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce, a Fellow of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society, and an Emeritus Board Member of Mission Blue.
