Rahul Balasundaram
Rahul (he/him) is a contributor to SPOTLIGHT: Climate Displacement in the News. He is currently pursuing his MA in Immigration and Settlement Studies at the Toronto Metropolitan University and holds an Honours Bachelor of Social Sciences in International Development from the University of Ottawa. As part of his graduate studies research, Rahul is exploring the interconnectedness of climate displacement, climate justice and the securitization of migration. In his professional capacity, he works as a Research and Advocacy Officer at Asylum Access by supporting the Resourcing Refugee Leadership Initiative. Rahul has previously worked in migration, humanitarian and international development research, policy and program through roles in various non-governmental organizations, think tanks and federal government departments.
