Through our COUNTRY REPORTS, we research, interview experts, vulnerable communities, travel to impacted regions and tell those stories because we think their realities should inform policy.

Significant scientific evidence exists to suggest that climate change is impacting our planet, posing adverse effects to human lives. However, we lack understanding on its contribution to displacement, details on issues faced and the numbers of people displaced across borders as a result of climate change in all its forms - from environmental degradation to climate disasters.

Climate Refugees exists to close that gap.

We believe that policies shift when field evidence and impacted people are heard.

MISSION

Climate Refugees defends the rights of human beings displaced and forced to migrate within and across borders as a result of climate change. We document cases to shed light on systemic and structural inequities, identify gaps and solutions, and advocate for the inclusion of communities and policies that protect those impacted by climate-induced displacement.

We bring knowledge in human rights, humanitarian, development and policy fields. Read about our founding and team here.
