Because effective and lasting change first begins with education, we offer consistent information and analysis to the public and policymakers. Our two digests provide regular primary sources of information on how climate change drives displacement, compounds crises, multiplies threats and limits human rights. SPOTLIGHT provides a timely roundup of global news and expert analysis, while PERSPECTIVES features expert commentary and distinct stories from people on the move.

Advocacy

We believe public movements play a key role in shifting policy, which is why our digital campaign, FRONTLINES: Stories and Actions on Climate Displacement builds a People’s Movement of knowledge and actions citizens can take to raise awareness and demand global attention and action to address climate displacement. We host events that convene thought leaders and global experts in multidisciplinary conversations. We listen carefully to agents of change, providing expert inputs to policy, policy statements, writing joint NGO reports and engaging in direct and public advocacy.

Research & Information: Reporting, Expertise, Thought Leadership

Our reports that identify climate change as a compounding driver of displacement provides a human lens on the climate crisis, documenting human rights conditions side-by-side with political, social, economic, and conflict risk analysis. We provide subject matter expertise, demonstrated by expert forums, frequent speaking engagements, convene technical experts in legal, climate and security, international cooperation and other key areas to offer thought leadership and pathways in policy, practice and legal protection.

Technical Assistance

Through membership and expert forums like the World Economic Forum, Loss and Damage Collaboration, Climate, Migration and Displacement Platform, UC Berkeley School of Law and others, Climate Refugees and founder Amali Tower are well-positioned to provide case studies, expert policy advice and technical inputs to the UN, US Congressional representatives, legislators, and students and experts in academia and other overlapping technical areas. We speak to present and future storytellers, filmmakers, podcasters and all forms of media because we feel strongly in their influence, integral to effectively policymaking.
